The Westgate Dental Practice has been providing quality dental care in Warwick since 1983, based in a Victorian townhouse overlooking the historic Lord Leycester Hospital and Westgate Arch.
We offer both Private and NHS dental care. Private patients have the opportunity to join our monthly payment scheme – Denplan, once you are dentally fit. We're not currently taking on any new NHS patients. We will be reviewing our patient books in July 2021.
All information about our patients is treated in strictest confidence in accordance with our policy. A copy of our practice confidentiality policy can be obtained from reception.
Our premises and downstairs surgeries are also wheelchair accessible.
Should you have a dental emergency outside the normal practice hours, telephone the practice on 01926 494300 which will provide you with a contact phone number of the dentist on call. you may not see your usual dentist but we will aim to deal with the immediate problem. During normal practice hours, we will endeavour to see any registered patient who has a dental emergency.

We provide a full range of high quality preventive and restorative care. Our dentists cover most types of treatments including cosmetic treatment and more complex treatments. To ensure your dental care meets your individual needs we will discuss the proposed treatment options with you and will be happy to answer any queries you may have. Complimenting our dentists, Heather our hygienist will also work with you and provide advice about preventing and controlling gum disease.
Our surgeries are equipped with some of the latest technology, including digital x-rays, which allow patients to see and discuss treatment options and enables us to give you the best and most efficient treatment. We may suggest referral to a particular specialist for more complex treatments, for example orthodontic and periodontal treatment.
Our dentists and hygienist are fully qualified and up to date with the latest advances in dentistry. Information on the team can be found below, or details of their qualifications and registrations can be obtained from the General Dental Council (GDC) website.
Our decontamination room ensures the highest degree of cleanliness with our dental instruments and equipment, meeting the requirements of the Care Quality Commission.

James Clark trained at Dundee University and qualified in 1981. He worked as a Registrar in Oral Surgery before moving into general dental practice in 1985. He has been practicing at Westgate since 1989. James, otherwise known as Hamish, is also qualified in Implantology which he studied at the University of Warwick.
Julie Clark has been managing the Westgate Dental Practice since 1998. Julie is also a qualified nurse and on occasion helps Hamish out in his surgery. Her hobbies include relaxing holidays, cooking and spending time with family and friends.
Naomi Shearing graduated from Sheffield University Dental school in 2011 and aims to complete the MJDF exam and post-grad courses in restorative dentistry. Naomi has volunteered as a dentist in Botswana, Zambia and Ecuador. Naomi enjoys playing tennis, yoga and catching up with friends and family.
Anusha Patel qualified from Birmingham Dental hospital and joined Westgate in 2013. Anusha extends her dentistry knowledge by attending post-grad courses. Anusha participates in dental organisations like the Young Dentists Committee and the BDA Committee. Anusha enjoys the gym, baking and seeing friends.
Deenun graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2012, and has also completed a MFDS postgraduate diploma with the Royal College of Surgeons. Deenun has a particular interest in endodontics, aesthetic and restorative dentistry. Outside of work, Deenun enjoys socialising with friends and family, painting and travelling
Heather Stockil has worked in dentistry for over 30 years. Heather qualified at Birmingham Dental Hospital and has been a hygienist at Westgate since 1990. Heather’s hobbies are travelling, reading and gardening.

The Westgate Dental Practice is located in the centre of Warwick on the main route to the M40, opposite the Westgate and Lord Leycester Hospital. Car Parks are located nearby in New Bowling Green Street. There is some on-street parking available in West Street.
